Former Wolverine Greg Mathews getting noticed at Bears' camp
While Brandon Graham and Zoltan Mesko have gotten a lot of attention as Michigan players in their NFL rookie training camps, one who wasn't drafted, receiver Greg Mathews, is also making an impression.
Mathews was signed by the Chicago Bears right after the draft and is in training camp now. With his athleticism, he may fit into the Mike Martz offensive system.
He spoke to the Chicago Sun Times the other day and is getting attention for many of the highlight-reel catches he has made, like he did at Michigan.
"They're giving me opportunities," he told the paper. "I may not get many reps, but I just try to go hard, and stand out. I'm on a lot of special teams."
