Adams eager for NFL labor accord
With a third child on the way, Anthony Adams realizes the importance of getting back to work.
But with the NFL lockout still in place, at least until a federal judges rules on the matter Wednesday, the Bears nose tackle and soon-to-be unrestricted free agent has no say. Adams future remains in limbo until a new collective bargaining agreement is reached. He has been offered a three-year deal to remain in Chicago, a place he loves, but might get more money by testing the market.
"I'm just going to let everything else handle itself," said Adams, who was honored Tuesday at Maryville Academy as the team's Ed Block Courage Award winner. "I'm praying to God that something will happen sooner than later."
Adams still is baffled by the lockout.
"It's a shame we have to go through something like this," he said, "something that could have been resolved 2 1/2 years ago."
